Attractions Germany. Neuschwanstein Castle - fairy-tale, fantasy castle is located above wooded hills in the Bavarian Alps near the town of Füssen. The castle, likes a theatrical scenery, created on order of Bavarian King Ludwig II by Munich theater artist Christian Jank. The construction of the imposing size building lasted for seventeen years. It should have to embody ideals of Ludwig II of ancient German knighthood. Castle interiors represent a chaotic mixture of Gothic, Moorish and Baroque elements. Here one can see stalactite-columns, the Throne room in the Byzantine style, the Singing room with a very high-quality lighting, especially for performances of Wagner's operas - the king’s favorite. The Castle has equipped with advanced for that time heating and plumbing with hot and cold water systems.
